Harper Lee agrees to EBook & Audiobook

April 28th is Harper Lee's birthday!

Harper Lee turned 88 today and shocked  the world with the following announcement,  "I'm still old-fashioned. I love dusty old books and libraries. I am amazed and humbled that Mockingbird has survived this long. This is Mockingbird for a new generation." (The Guardian)

As the article continues to state:

Michael Morrison, of HarperCollins, said: "Every home has a dog-eared copy of To Kill a Mockingbird, and now readers will be able to add this favourite book to their digital libraries. Although today is Nelle Harper Lee's birthday, she is giving readers around the world the gift of being able to read or listen to this extraordinary story in all formats."
The ebook will be published by Cornerstone in the UK. Susan Sandon, Cornerstone managing director, said: "To Kill a Mockingbird regularly tops polls as the nation's most-loved book and we are delighted that readers all over the world will now have the opportunity to read or listen to this very special book in all formats."

She looks as what I imagine an elderly Scout to look like.

Sticky Notes for the 21st Century - Part II

We are in Part II of To Kill a Mockingbird!

The second part of the novel focuses on the Tom Robinson trial. Some of the characters you have already met, such as the Ewells and the Cunninghams, have their part to play in this, and Boo Radley has an important role as well. Scout, Jem, and Dill continue to grow up and to learn more about the society they live in and the people they live with.

As stated in the previous post, the next Padlets will have specific questions to be answered. There are no right or wrong answers; however, your opinion is of great value. Regardless of what you think or believe, always remember to use contextual evidence to back you up.

THE QUESTIONS WILL BE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE
AND IN THE ENGRADE ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION!

  • Jem Finch: Angel, Claudia, and Roberto
  • Atticus Finch: Diana, Ellen, and Lucia
  • Boo Radley: Maria Luisa, Carolina, Sharon, and Laura
